Hollow Front Release Emotive Track ‘Treading Water’
Michigan band Hollow Front wowed us earlier this year with their monster single ‘Falling Apart‘ featuring Fit For A King vocalist Ryan Kirby. Signed to UNFD, Hollow Front are firing on all cylinders and have just released an emotive new track called ‘Treading Water’.
Here’s how vocalist Tyler Tate describes the song:
“It’s a song about being dragged under by the negative thoughts in your head and always feeling like you’re taking one step forward and ten steps back,” shares Tate, adding: “It describes that feeling of drowning in your life, but always fighting and clawing your way back up to the surface, and not believing all the negative things your mind is telling you because you have a purpose to fulfil.”
‘Treading Water’ serves us with heavy and melodic metalcore vibes, stellar production and a climbing pace. Tate retches his tight vocals across the versus in this piece, and the band delivers influences from bands like Erra and Currents, from a guitar tuning point of view, but also rhythmically. It’s hard to ignore the visceral response the track gives in the way it’s structured and the harmonic cleans delivered towards the end. Definitely a band to watch out for this year and look back at Hollow Front‘s 2020 album Loose Threads.
