Melbourne newcomers Paperweight are living proof that you can launch a brand new band in the midst of a global pandemic and have some decent success. Ever since they entered the Australian music scene with their debut single ‘Waster’, this young, bright-eyed four piece have delivered four pop punk anthems that’s kinda put them ahead of many of their peers. They’ve learnt to master their own self-worth, stayed grounded during a six week lockdown, and now like many of us, they’re just longing for the resurgence of live music to play their very first show.
While guitarist Luana TG doesn’t actually sing in Paperweight (which kinda sets them apart even more!), we got her to reflect on Paperweight’s first year as a band, what albums made her album of the year list as well as her own Aussie faves in the scene…
