Our 2020 Year in Review continues and here at WoS HQ, we’re not elitist when it comes to bands we cover… Everything from heavy metal to metal/deathcore, pop punk, alt rock and even pop rock gets a mention! It just all comes down to good people doing good things and the next guest contributor fits into that mantra (and the Daddy AF category these days)…
Shaun Diviney from Short Stack is here to tell us how his year went. The boys came off hiatus in February and were supposed to head out on their biggest tour to date, selling out shows all over the place before COVID ruined that for everyone. But the blessing in disguise is that the band have headed back into the studio and are working on, from what I’ve heard, a completely different sound to what they’ve done in the past.

In 2016 at the Tivoli haha. We were meant to be touring in July but… ya know. We’re touring April 2021. Tix on sale now!
HOW DID COVID AFFECT YOU/YOUR BAND?
Positively & negatively, we had one of the biggest tours we’ve ever done moved. But it gave us lots of time to write and record the best music we’ve ever done and actually dedicate a lot of energy to it.
BIGGEST THING YOU LEARNED ABOUT YOURSELF IN 2020?
My wife and I had our second son this year so learning to be a father or two! I think this whole virus has made people take a step back and learn what’s actually important. It was amazing having 3 weeks in lockdown at home with the family.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2021?
Short Stack winning the ARIA for Album of the Fukin Century lol
But for real we’ve been working on our most ambitious stuff ever and we can’t wait for people to hear it.
