Soo, The ARIAs Unveiled Their 2020 Heavy Music Nominees!

Right. You should know my opinion about the ARIAs by now and if you don't, read this and catch up! Each year heavy music gets snubbed to the ad breaks and it sucks because we want these bands to receive maximum exposure, just like the mainstream acts because, at the end of the day, it should be about ALL of the music, not just the pop stuff.
You even voted on this subject last year and agreed with me:

However, until that happens, we're only reporting on the heavy/rockier bands who pick themselves up nominations at the ARIAs and today, we're stoked to bring you the bands who copped themselves a nod to potentially win a fancy pointy doorstopper!
Best Rock Album
Eh! announcement but Soho is sick!
My Prediction: Violent Soho all the fucking way!
Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album
Heavy contention this year will see Parkway and Polaris go head to head again (last time was for Reverence vs. The Mortal Coil) with their Viva The Underdogs Soundtrack vs The Death of Me alongside The Amity Affliction's Everyone Loves You... Once You Leave Them, The Chats' High Risk Behaviour and King Gizzard...
My Prediction: Please let this be Polaris' year! Pleaseeeeeee
Best Video
Violent Soho have also managed to pick themselves up a nomination for their hilarious video for 'Pick It Up Again' which I called the Video of the Year (so far) upon release. I bloody hope they take it out! But they're up against mainstream heavy hitters like Tones & I, Guy Sebastian, Troye Sivan etc but fingers crossed for Mansfield's finest!

Last year we spoke to Parkway Drive frontman Winston McCall (and 2 x ARIA Winner) who told us he dreams of heavy music being a considered a nominee in the 'Album of the Year' category alongside mainstream contenders.. sadly his dream will be waiting another year with no addition of any heavy band to the list this year... Stay tuned for the winners being announced on November 25th!
Over the weekend, we asked you who you think deserved a nomination and the end results were mixed but valid. You should be the ones voting, not the industry professionals! Take a look at who our readers wanted at the post above
