Continuing the bad news of Download Festival getting shafted yesterday due to coronavirus, Jimmy Eat World and Carcass have also announced their gigs will no longer take place either.
Jimmy Eat World were set to play Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane next week and they’ve pulled out according to Frontier Touring:
Please note the Jimmy Eat World shows will be cancelled.
Ticketholders will be contacted directly with refund information.
Carcass have also announced they’ll be bypassing Australia too amidst the pandemic according to Soundworks Touring:
Due to the very unfortunate circumstances surrounding the DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL cancellation and now the newly enforced government regulations, SOUNDWORKS DIRECT regrets to inform the public that all appearances on the scheduled CARCASS Australian tour have been cancelled. This has been an incredibly difficult decision to make, but one we now have no choice in.
Ticket purchasers will receive a refund via point of purchase.
We urge everyone to please be patient during the refund process.
We sincerely apologise for all disappointment and inconvenience caused by these decisions made. We are 100% committed to rescheduling a headlining CARCASS tour to a later time frame when world health concerns settle.
Expect more and more cancellations to come.
The government has also stated that events for over 500 people will be banned from Monday, conveniently a day after a large scale Hillsong event takes place over the weekend featuring thousands upon thousands of people attending… But that’s none of my business.
Trying times are ahead for live music in Australia so please, we urge you, buy merch, stream/buy music, do what you can to help your fav musicians and touring companies. The worst is yet to come and we’re all going to have to pull our weight to help where possible.
Fuck you COVID-19/Coronavirus.
Look out for yourselves!
