“It’s the end of an era” – Robb Flynn
We hope you saw them on their most recent Australian Tour because Robb Flynn of Machine Head has announced they are calling it a day after drummer Dave McClain and Phil Demmel quit the band. The news was revealed in a Facebook Live event on the band’s page where Robb also revealed Jared MacEachern kinda/sorta quit as well so he had no other options left but to follow suit, mainly because they’ve all grown apart as people and musicians.
Robb has called for fans to “respect Phil and Dave’s decision as I respect their decision” and he added that he was “honoured for everything they have contributed for Machine Head… over the past 15 years with Phil and 23 years with Dave.”
The band’s upcoming USA Tour will serve as their Farewell Tour with all dates still being honoured by the band, which will wrap up in California on November 24th (if you’re interested in seeing them one last time, tickets here)
In the video below, it is gut-wrenching to watch Robb come to terms with telling all his fans the news, he stated he doesn’t know what the future holds and that he and his former bandmates are all scared. We’ll keep you updated on this developing news once more is revealed.
