Wall of Sound presents: “2017 YEAR IN REVIEW” – by The Beautiful Monument’s Andrea Skoumbri

Australia is currently filled with a stack of great upcoming bands who all sound like they have what it takes to go the distance and not fade into oblivion. Their passion and determination to make it in the industry is refreshing to see and one of those bands is Melbourne’s The Beautiful Monument who had a pretty big year in 2017 after releasing their album I’m The Sin which scored them a shitload of national radio airplay and consequent support slots for Tonight AliveI Prevail and a memorable heavy show at Crowbar during Big Sound. Frontwoman Lizi Blaco co-hosted Wall of Sound: Up Against The Wall recently to discuss what’s to come next year, but we grabbed shredder Andrea Skoumbri for her thoughts for our Wall of Sound 2017 Year In Review featuring…

Favourite Moment With Your Band in 2017

Touring as main support with Tonight Alive on their Back To Beginnings Tour. It was
incredible being surrounded by such a talented group of musicians and amazing team and crew every day. Plus what’s not to love about spending 8+ hours a day in a van with your (pre-tour) best friends. I’m kidding we’re all still best friends. Luckily there were no punch ons. 📷:  Georgia Moloney (Sydney Review & Gallery Here)

Best Show Your Band Played This Year

The Melbourne show of the Back To Beginnings tour was definitely a highlight for me.
Although at the same time it was a bittersweet moment as it was the closing date of the tour.

What Are You Looking Forward to in 2018

I’m most looking forward to getting back in the studio and recording again. There’s nothing like the excitement of creating and hearing new songs come together for the first time.
