Get your Heartagrams out, HIM have announced they’re breaking up!

Finnish emo/metal/goth rock icons HIM, as made world famous by Bam Margera and the CKY/Jackass team have announced they’re calling it quits after 26 years together. In a statement on their Facebook page the band revealed:

“After quarter of a century of Love and Metal intertwined we sincerely feel HIM has run its unnatural course and adieus must be said in order to make way for sights, scents and sounds yet unexplored. We completed the pattern, solved the puzzle and turned the key. Thank you.” Says frontman Ville Valo

The band formed in 1991 by Valo, guitarist Mikko “Linde” Lindström and bassist Mikko “Migé” Paananen, and they gained traction across the globe for their blend of metal, goth and emo traits loved by fans globally. They also gave birth to the sub-genre Love Metal. Four years have passed since the band’s last studio album Tears on Tape and they’re saying goodbye with a massive worldwide tour.

“At the end of 2017 we will be released into the wild.” . “Before this event of great transformation we would love to offer you one last chance to experience our live performances in His Majesty’s service. It shall not be a weepfest but a celebration of love metal in all its lovecraftian glory! See you there!” – bassist Mikko “Migé” Paananen

Australian Tour Dates are yet to be announced, however Destroy All Lines have teased a tour announcement today, so maybe that’s what they’re hinting at! We’ll keep you posted.

*Update: It wasn’t HIM
