EXCLUSIVE: We go Behind the Scenes of Violent Soho’s “No Shade” Music Video
Brisbane’s finest Violent Soho have celebrated their ARIA Awards Nomination Spree by releasing a brand new music video for their latest single “No Shade” from the WACO album. The video focuses on fans driving across Brisbane to a secret location where the band perform in front of a mass group who have congregated together to see the guys. I was lucky enough to bullshit my way score an invite to the filming of the video which took place at the Mt Gravatt Showgrounds back in August.

Violent Soho – No Shade video shoot
We arrived among stacks of cars full of punters who were all there to support the band and get their ugly mugs on camera for one of the loosest and hilarious video shoots possibly ever created. We had guys on Mopeds driving around the group frantically, mascot costumes, home made sauce bottle bongs being smoked while the rowdy crowd cheered them on and mindless shenanigans that’ll make any do-gooder die of a heart attack.
We scored a spot close to the circle of cars facing the band and jumped up on top of my pedo van joining those around as drinking beers and going nuts as the band filmed what seemed to be hundreds of takes including drone fly bys, up close and personals and it was like the shoot had no rules or regulations, as long as we all had fun and that’s exactly what we did. The atmosphere was incredible and everyone were total legends chatting about the band and how they couldn’t believe they scored an invite too. The band greeted and thanked fans at the end for coming all the way and even helped to jump start cars that had unfortunately run out of battery from keeping their lights on the whole time.
All in all it was an incredible experience to be apart of and the end result is yet another masterpiece to add to the band’s collection.
Violent Soho are hitting the road at the end of the month with The Bronx, Luca Brasi and Tired Lion. If you’re yet to see these guys in concert, make sure you change that on this tour.
Until next time, rock the fuck out
