To celebrate the tenth anniversary of their debut album Truest Of Colours, Sienna Skies hit the road to play the songs that initially put this Sydney based five-piece on the map. Joining the band on tour is original vocalist Steve Faull, who up until this tour hadn't played a show in three and a half years. With a strong line up of support acts, each spanning different genres, the anticipation for this one was significant to say the very least.

Opening up the night was Melbourne based up and comers Passerby, they did a terrific job at picking up the energy despite the venue being near empty and showed a lot of promise as they delivered their melodic hardcore sound. Next up was Melbourne based pop-punk five-piece Terra and they were quick to make their presence known. Lead vocalist Cassie Sutton entranced the crowd with her dance moves as she eloquently sang her lyrics. Instrumentally, this band plays professionally; their timing was spot on as each instrument complements the next. If you are a fan of Aussie pop-punk make sure you get around these guys

Next act to take to the stage was Bad Juju. These guys have been making waves within the grunge/rock scene, and for good reason, Their catchy riffs and hard-hitting vocals of frontman Russell Holland caught the eye of just about every punter in the half-filled band room. If you haven't yet had the chance to witness these guys in a live setting, make sure you jump at the opportunity. Next act to take to the stage was Aburden; this class act never fails to mesmerise a crowd. Vocalist and keyboardist Mason Foster managed to play despite needing a walking stick as he injured himself skateboarding a few weeks prior. Watching him perform wasn't as unique as it usually is but hats off to him for playing with an injury. Vocalist and guitarist Kyle Burrows did an excellent job on his part, his voice is incredibly unique and sounded almost identical to the bands recorded songs. The guys continue to play an unreleased song at every show recently so keep eyes peeled for its release!

Finally, it was time for Sienna Skies to take to the stage; the energy within the band room was buzzing from the very start. Vocalists Steve Faull and Thomas Pirozzi did an incredible job as sharing frontman duties. The band played the album Truest Of Colours in full while adding some crowd favourites such as 'Directions', 'Even Stronger', 'Divided' and their infamous cover of 'Fireflies' by Owl City. Instrumentally the band was on the mark and made playing these songs look easy. The band continually encouraged the crowd to mosh and get involved, and so they did.

Sienna Skies managed to prove that they still have what it takes to be a professional band within this ever-growing genre. In my honest opinion, this act is yet to hit their prime.
