Is it really the festive season without a sweaty throwdown session at a Miles Away gig?

It was epic chaos on a perfect summer evening as the Australian hardcore legends unleashed their annual Xmas Assault at Jack Rabbit Slims in the sweaty heart of Northbridge.

The ride began with Nervous dishing it out early and were followed by veterans, The Others, who wrenched out a set of songs that is a testament to why they are one of the best bands to see. Next up were AWOL from Melbourne…and they are heavy! Heavier than ten washing machines coming down on you from a ten-storey building; and there was no better way to get the crowd roused for tonight’s headliner.

As always, Miles Away pour their hearts into the live show, going full tilt from beginning to end with a set that included a surprise Nirvana cover. Crowd participation is always on for the entire set, with the dedicated pit crew matching the band for energy non-stop. All in all, it was another killer Xmas show put on by the band that makes me look forward to December every year.
