Emperor are officially back in the country and they kicked off their In The Nightside Eclipse Tour at the beautiful Forum Theatre in Melbourne. Opening the night was mask-sporting The Amenta, who drew us in with an elegance of the brutal variety and haunting face hiders.
Then the main event. Emperor hit the stage to thunderous applause, lead by the iconic Ihsahn and what happened next needs to be witnessed by all fans of heavy music. The Norwegian black metal icons band played through their debut album In The Nightside Eclipse which was the main focus of this tour, along with a host of favorites.
