Wildheart Walks 'The Darkest Path' in Final Single Before Sophomore Album Drop

Following on from singles 'Death is All That's Left' and 'Evergreen', the lads from Meanjin/Brisbane metal act Wildheart have returned once more to offer a final glimpse into their upcoming second album, Searching For Life Beyond Tragedy - released independently on November 15.

This guitar-driven attack on the senses combines this band's blend of both hardcore/metalcore elements with precision while honing in on their melodic side in the chorus, which will grab your attention instantly. Vocalist Axel Best is a beast up front and, as always, pulls you in with his delivery and important messaging, especially on lyrics like 'Turning a blind eye / Normalising oppression and death / Discrimination, injustice, is this our legacy?' As he spits venom, it's government bodies in the firing line, but this shouldn't come as a surprise for Wildheart fans new and old - spruiking advocacy and awareness is something the band have been masters of since their earliest conception.

'The Darkest Path' is no different, as the outfit shares:

“We are just a local heavy band, but if we can convince one person to engage with politics and make choices towards a better future for everyone, then it will have been worth it."

With eight new tracks added to the impressive catalogue on the new album, fans can expect to delve deep into themes surrounding Indigenous affairs, political frustration, mental health awareness and social injustices. And if that's not enough to get you fired up for change, then that's on you buddy!
