While 2023 didn't bring a new full-length from Rivers of Nihil, the group have certainly been making their presence felt on the international tour circuit. Amidst galivanting across Europe and North America, these tech-death wizards (from Pennsylvanian, USA) even made the trek down-under in early September, where alongside German progressive metal outfit The Ocean, performed a series of shows supporting Melbourne's very own Ne Obliviscaris.Following the Australian leg of their tour, Rivers of Nihil unveiled the blistering single 'Hellbirds' - an aural exploration that traverses otherworldly peaks, and with equal intensity, throttles into devastating chasms.Whilst we keep a diligent ear to the ground, awaiting rumblings of any other material that the band has in the works, join us in chatting with JaredKlein (drummer for Rivers of Nihil), as he recaps his 2023.

Usually, the wall of death is a core memory, but there was a good memory that I’ll never forget. Somebody wrote my name on a sign asking for a drum stick. I thought that was pretty cool.
