Vilify Unveil Fever Dream EP + Drop Ferocious New Song 'Light Bringer'
Australia's alternative music playground over the past few years alone has seen Newcastle heavy hitters Vilify go from strength to strength with every release they bestow upon us and today they're back with twice as much love... it is Valentine's Day after all.Upon releasing their last single 'Dread Addict', the band gave us a sneak peek of their upcoming EP when they shared:
"...it’s all going to be very big, epic, angry and aggressive with a sprinkle of shiny beauty (hopefully), but there are definitely some heavier, more in-your-face tracks coming."
And they weren't wrong!The new single 'Light Bringer' is here and their EP, titled Fever Dream, is set for release independently on April 19th featuring five brand new songs. Not one to be pigeonholed into any specific genre, the band hone in on their Spiritbox influences, as Amy screams her way through what can only be described as a furious cardio-starter with plenty of synth, down tuned guitars and a chunky breakdown that'll have you gasping for breath after giving your all throughout the track's duration.[wpadcenter_ad id=176804 align='center']The intricate production that goes into Vilify's music is not only a testament to the band but also their mixer/masterer ChrisBlancato, who has helped direct the band to narrow down their vision, which we'll hear more of when Fever Dream drops.As for the track's inspiration, vocalist AmyMcintosh explains:
"Light bringer is a bit of a metaphorical deep dive into my love for sleep and the peace it brings... When my waking life becomes overwhelming I find myself searching for “better” or “happier” in the clutches of slumber. The track finds me trying to summon or beacon this personification of bliss - Sleep is my saviour and she saves me from the pain of existence."
