Fans of UK progressive metal act TesseracT have been spoilt today with not just a new single and video drop, but an album announcement and massive tour.
The new single ‘War of Being’, the title track of the upcoming album, is accompanied by a music video of cinematic proportions. The 11-minute epic is the perfect prologue to what is set to be an absolute masterpiece of an album.
Vocalist Dan Tompkins describes the track as
“…a fight for acceptance, a battle of existence and a resistance against ego. It's a struggle for control as we cut through the white noise of reality. It's the need to know and identify with oneself, to accept and understand what we stand for and who we are. There is an urgent need to 'Tear the mask away,' and reveal your true self."
War of Being, the band’s first full-length since highly anticipated release since the 2021 cinematic experience P O R T A L S, is out on September 15 this year via KSCOPE. It is a concept album that explores the feelings of internal dissonance. In a tale that has it’s leads facing a foe known as “Fear” in a place known as “The Strangelands”, the album is set to be an introspective journey from start to finish.
With a penchant for breathing life into their music unlike any other, War of Being has the potential to the release of the year. Bass player Amos Williams states the album has been an, "…all-encompassing for us since late 2019.”
"The scale of work and reward from that project kind of set this up to be inevitable. We simply had to try and see how far we could take a concept album with TesseracT.”
Australian fans will have a chance to be able to experience the mastery of TesseracT firsthand, as the band have announced they will be hitting our shores in May next year. Hitting major cities across the country, the kind of sensory overload TesseracT delivers live is not to be missed.
