It's time to lock eyes with a new Brissie core crew making a big splash.Today we're catching up with Bad Party, the brainchild of ex-Chronolyth guitarists DanielLong and AlexNisiriou, bassist CampbellHenderson and their brand new vocalist DaleDudeson (Revoid). The lads present their brand new single 'Pray' which is an electronic-core jam complete with downtuned guitars, sing-a-long inducing cleans, eerie synth and raspy growls that'll have you screaming along in unison.Compared to scene greats like Northlane and Void of Vision, this latest single shows promise for the group and has turned our heads in their direction, so much so we had to hone in on their band name and get the lads to share some bad partying experiences they've had.Turns out their experiences are well worth a laugh...Campbell Henderson (bass):“After hitting the valley for a weekend, me and the boys used to go back to a mate's property 45 minutes away for days on end. We dubbed it the “fuck out farm”. There was a bunch of farm animals at said farm and on day 2 we decided to order some Uber eats. The delivery guy couldn’t find the front gate so he dropped it on the other side of the paddock. Now a group of 10 dudes, hardly a sober brain cell amongst them, had to traverse a paddock full of cows and a very territorial bull to get our feed. We got most of the food back in one piece, one of us fell into the lake with his snack pack and another dropped his kebab after running into the barbed wire fence. Casualties were taxing that day.”Dale Dudeson (vocals):"I was at a party a few years back and it was an all day stretch. It was going well, except for the fact that there was almost no food aside from a few small bags of chips and some crackers. So, my mate and I ordered $140 worth of fried chicken, sat in the middle of the yard, and proceeded to ravage and resource guard while everyone else stared longingly; made painfully aware of the folly of their inaction. There were no leftovers."

Daniel Long (guitar):"Back in 2014, I rocked up for a gig at the (now closed) Tempo Hotel for an 8:00 set. When we arrived we were told that our set had been pushed back to not 9, or 10, but midnight... on a Wednesday. The only reasonable thing for a bunch of 19-year-olds to do was sit there and drink the cheap beer jugs until we played. Midnight came around and by then we were tanked; it was the worst set I've ever played. Everyone who came to see us had left except for 5 people, so in an absolute state, we invited them on stage to jump around and dance with us. As the drummer, I sat at the back and watched as people were pulled up on stage, and swiftly tackled by security and asked to leave. By the end of the show, no one was left. Toughest $30 I've ever made."Alexander Nisiriou (guitar):"In an old band at one of our biggest gigs at the time, we loaded in with all our gear and merch before the show. It wasn't until doors opened that we realised no one had setup the merchandise and it was nowhere to be found. After some investigation, we came to the conclusion that the large box had been packed away under the stage by mistake by the venue staff - no merch sales for us that night, but it doesn't end there. After the show, we packed up all our gear as usual and headed home. It wasn't until months later we asked the question - so who grabbed the merch? Long story short it was never recovered, a mistake you only want to make once."Listen to 'Pray' in our Aussie Heavyweights & Hitmakers Playlist where BadParty sit firm on this week's cover - Apple & Spotifyhere
