Industrial nu-metallers Static-X are boomeranging back to Aussie shores after their last run in August, 2019 alongside Wednesday 13 and notably Dope. The LA group have announced their return for an East Coast run in late May kicking off in Melbourne on the 19th, Sydney on the 20th and Brisbane on the 21st.

On the tour, bassist Tony Campos says:

“We are so excited to finally get back to Australia. We plan to play most of the songs off of both Machine and Wisconsin Death Trip as well as a number of nice surprises. It’s going to be one for the ages and we can’t wait to get out there and celebrate 20 years of our Machine record while we continue to remember all of the good times that we had with Wayne and to share it live and loud with all of our Aussie fans. It’s going to be awesome!"

Static-X aka founding members Tony Campos,Koichi FukudaandKen Jay made global headlines - with their fill-in frontman Xer0 sporting a zombified mask of the late WayneStatic (vocalist and band namesake). After fans witnessed the show firsthand, and saw the way they're handling these performances (note: it's definitely more of a memorial/honouring experience rather than a cash-grab), the lads intend to keep Wayne's legacy alive and longtime supporters truly appreciate the show they produced.

When we spoke with Tony back in 2019, we asked if they'd continue doing shows for other album anniversaries, to which he replied:

“If it’s something the fans want, we’ll definitely keep it in mind for sure”

Fast forward to now and the band will be focusing their tour on 2001's Machine, which boasted hit singles such as 'Cold', 'Black and White' and 'This Is Not'. The gang will also cut through classic tracks, so expect to lose your mind when they play 'Push It' plus live Aussie debuts of music from their 2020 release Project Regeneration Volume 1.

Joining the X-Men will be SOiL; pioneers of a sound that gave the world bands such as Godsmack, Spineshank and Mudvayne, SOiL’s influence goes deep and fans will be able to witness their album Scars being played in full as well as other hits from the catalogues.
