Spiritbox Surprise Drops New Neck-Snapper 'Soft Spine'

I love the smell of new music in the morning...

Especially on a Friday; when the world is overhyped with what one alt-rock/nu-metal band is up to, attention should be turned to the rest of the heavy world because Spiritbox have unleashed their new heavy-hitter 'Soft Spine' and to say it's the Friday delight you didn't know you needed would be an understatement.

Commencing with a synth lead-in, we're soon met with Courtney LaPlante screaming "YOU ALL DESERVE EACH OTHER" as we're then met with some familiar djent SFX and a thumping bassline. The production is (as usual) in fine form - with intertwining backing synth weaving in between Zev Rose's drum fills and Josh Gilbert's bass tricks as Courtney builds towards a tasty breakdown call of "YOUR GOD WILL SEE YOU WHEN YOU DIIIIIIE" - which then takes us into a manic breakdown with frantic fingering action from Mike Stringer.

Leaning more into Spiritbox's heavier side, this new single will tick a few boxes for fans and critics alike. It finishes quite abruptly leading me to believe the song is part of a bigger picture scheme here (new album en route?); and following the band's debut album Eternal Blue and follow up EP The Fear of Fear, we can only expect an influx of new music in quick succession from one of the world's most exciting and well-prepared metal acts.
