Ska-Punk Legends Goldfinger and Less Thank Jake Team Up for Morgan Wallen Cover ‘I Had Some Help’
Off the back of the news that Less Than Jake are headed our way this November – both for their own tour and recently announced as Hotter Than Hell Festival headliners for Queensland and Adelaide – the band have teamed up with fellow Ska-punk alumni Goldfinger for a cover of Country singer Morgan Wallen's track ‘I Had Some Help.’
Building off the back of ‘Broken Words’ that came out a few weeks ago, ‘I Had Some Help’ adds both band's signature upbeat Ska sounds which features frontman John Feldman’s trademark delivery of catchy choruses. Feldman trades off vocal lines with LTJ’s Chris De Makes, while both bands pile in for one epic singalong. After this past week, it’s a very welcome song of positivity and continues the narrative of alternative and country bands coming together to cross-pollinate each other's genres.
Activity from the Goldfinger folks also gets me thinking - while Less Than Jake are clearly off the list for Good Things Festival, it’s been a while since Goldfinger have also ventured down under.
And with Mike Herrera serving as Goldfinger’s bass player, who also teased an Australian MxPx tour on the cards a while back, I’m adding those two bands to my prediction list (along with Sum 41.)
Hopefully it won’t be too much longer until we find out. Suss Wall of Sound's Rolling Coverage to stay up to date, who knows who'll be on the lineup, but it better have some pop punk flavour.
