If you are a fan of classic metalcore- then you need to be adding Sable Hills to your playlist. One of the fastest-rising stars of the Japanese metalcore scene, the Tokyo riff lords are starting to make a name for themselves across the globe. Their latest offering, 'Battle Cry' featuring Kenta Koie from Crossfaith, proves they are a force to be reckoned with.

Sable Hills may not have graced our pages before at Wall of Sound, but the band have some solid notches under their belt. Gracing the Wacken stages in 2021 and 2022, picking up support slots for notable international acts such as Bullet For My Valentine, Fit For A King and After The Burial and collaborations with vocalists such as Trevor Phipps from Unearth- just to name a few.

'Battle Cry' is the fourth single off their upcoming album Odyssey (out July 19), their first release under renowned German label Arising Empire. It is the quintessential introduction to those unfamiliar with Sable Hills. While it does not reinvent the metalcore wheel, it certainly has perfected it. Catchy riffs, clean vocals to sing-a-long with and a crushing breakdown. The cherry on top is the vocal feature from Kenta- providing a brutal vocal harmony Sable Hills frontman Takuya. Sealing the deal as nod of approval from the Japanese metalcore legend, as he also sees this young band as a future giant of the genre.
