It's exciting to hear something before it's officially released, it's like you're a part of a secret club that's very exclusive. Well, we're bringing you into the fold because we're excited to present a new single from Melbourne/Naarm's post hardcore collective, Some Heard Trouble! The band's new track 'Blind (Eye For An Eye)' is a triumphant return after their incredible 2022 EP Slow Dance, and goodness me they've brought their A game. Think fierce and frantic vocals layered with huge riffs and punctuated with haunting clean vocals. This track soars and is easily popped on repeat. Some heard trouble, but I heard excellence.Officially released on Friday, the 8th of March, we swooped in to speak with vocalist CameronBrown about the track which is the first taste of Some Heard Trouble's new body of work.'Blind (Eye For An Eye)' is your first offering since your 2022 EP Slow Dance. What have you learned about yourselves and your music since that EP?The Slow Dance EP was really an outlet for me to vent and release a lot of personal grievances with the world. After its release we hit the ground running with show after show. Of course at times we hit some bumps in the road, but I am REALLY proud of the last EP, the shows we played, and the success we had from the vinyl release we had off that record. It was an EP that helped tick a lot of boxes. Personally, I have learned to just to enjoy the ride. You can still be empathetic and fight the power, but I try not to sweat the small stuff and risk missing out of the good things.Tell us about 'Blind (Eye For An Eye)'. What is it about? What message/story do you want to portray to listeners? Our new release 'Blind' tells a story of a man reflecting on his life after being murdered by a loved one. The key messages of this track is that in life sometimes the best intentions don’t always go as planned, and that we don’t always know what someone has gone through or is going through. I think these messages are universal and easy for people to relate to in someway, shape or form. What's the concept for the music video? The idea for the video came from the mind of Jarrad (guitar/vocals) and Tony (@Late.Lives). I think they did a great job of bringing the message of song to life visually. It was a huge learning experience from building the set to being ‘buried alive’. Creating something with friends is something I feel so blessed to do.https://www.instagram.com/p/C4KgPKLyYKz/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==This single was produced by Callan Orr, how did he push you in the studio or what were your takeaways from working with him that you will apply to your future music? We have been working with Cal since our track 'Hive Mind'. We all grew up listening to Dream on Dreamer and aside from producing some of the best bands (past and present) he has a depth of ‘scene’ knowledge that is unmatched, resulting in hilarious tour stories. He really will push to get the best out of you and can pull from references that not a lot of producers get. Endless thanks Cal! (Playboy). Not to mention recording has also gotten a lot easier thanks to his puppy, AKA Seth Cohen! What is a Some Heard Trouble live show like?Whilst our songs at times may have heavy themes, we try and make each show a celebration. I don’t think we have played a show without someone getting up to do guest vocals and I don’t think I have left a stage without a smile on my face. We truly just like to have a good time.
