OTTTO Previews Thrashy Tenacity And Picturesque Wonder in 'Night Howlers' Video

In the heart of the Navajo Nation (Window Rock, Arizona), Californian alt-metal sensation, OTTTO uncovered the idyllic setting to shoot their latest music video for ‘Night Howlers’. Surrounded by the picturesque aesthetic that encompasses the region's natural landscape, it’s difficult to conceive a more fitting backdrop for the song's momentous riffs to echo, than amid the grandeur of the mountain peaks adorning the scene.

Directed by Mike Hatchett, the film is centred around the trio as they prepare for, and perform a concert in front of an intimate audience, staged at an outdoor amphitheatre. Periodically, the camera shifts to capture the breathtaking vistas of the surrounding area, whose visual splendours are enhanced by the reverberating guitar tones of Bryan Noah Ferretti, and sonorous thundering of Patrick "Triko'' Chavez's drums.

It is Tye Trujillo’s bass playing though, that is the lynch pin wrenching together these sonic elements, and elevating OTTTO's performance to the expressive heights it reaches. His ability to inject groove through flashes of solo brilliance, whilst never abandoning the stabilising rhythmic backbone that he provides for the others to anchor to, is reflective of this supreme artistry at play - where does he get that talent from, I wonder?

‘Night Howlers’ is featured on OTTTO’s latest record, Life Is a Game, released earlier this year. You can stream the album here on Spotify.
