Got tickets to the Gothenburg melodeath show of the year yet? The Halo Effect have announced their debut Australian and New Zealand tour and Wall of Sound are proud to be presenting it alongside our partners Kegstand Productions and Music Management INC, including Lagerfest!
The Halo Effect will be aptly joined by Lagerstein as well as Beyond The Black and New Zealand’s Devilskin – with more to be announced.
It'd be partly remiss not to reiterate The Halo Effect lineup but it's also partly electrifying to describe them time and time again. The Swedes are made up of an In Flames legacy, including Jesper Strömblad (AKA CYHRA guitarist), Daniel Svensson (drummer), Peter Iwers (bassist), Niclas Engelin (guitarist) and Mikael Stanne (AKA Dark Tranquillity and Grand Cadaver vocalist).
To date, The Halo Effect have just released one record Days Of The Lost and one B-side ‘Path of Fierce Resistance‘. With this lineup and reputation, they have already globetrotted to far corners of the world, and in November, that'll be including ours. They were notably on a Machine Head tour poster before anyone even knew who they were.

After breaking The Halo Effect and their first single ever ('Shadowminds') here at Wall of Sound in Australia, we've had a special fondness for the band ever since. Which is why we couldn't be more excited to be part of the upcoming tour. As such, we jumped online with Stanne to learn more about the Scandinavian metallers' inception.
"We've been talking about this forever. After a few drinks you'd go like 'hey man, it'd be cool to kind of start something together,' and this was the case Niclas asked me like three years ago - 'how about we do something?' and we had no idea what it was going to be, but something. Then he started sending me some stuff and I started recording some vocals for it and he was like 'yeah this is actually good, let's talk to Peter, Daniel and Jesper'. So, I was like 'ok, this is going to be fun'."
"We've been in the service of Gothenburg death metal for thirty plus years already so of course going into this, you take all that experience with you and use that - but at the same time you want to create something new."

Not only will Australia and New Zealand get a taste of some of the bangers from Days Of The Lost, but they'll also get to hear some really fresh tunes.
"We started writing and recording a few more songs that we're now using for the next album, so we're going to play some [of them] on this tour, because we're excited and it feels weird to go on tour only with one album so we needed more material."
"We've done some shows where we've played these new songs and it felt really good and it helped inspiring the writing of the next album. It's coming out next year and it's almost finished (the whole thing); it sounds fantastic, I'm super excited."
It's been eight years since the Dark Tranquillity vocalist last visited Australia, so safe to say the excitement is mutual for the band and their fans.
