Jerry Cantrell Unveils New Solo Album I Want Blood with Lead Single, 'Vilified'

Alice In Chains main man Jerry Cantrell has released his first new song ‘Vilified’ from the upcoming solo album I Want Blood, out October 18, 2024.

The follow up to the lauded 2021 opus Brighten, sees Cantrell enlisting an impressive roster of musicians including Greg Puciato (Better Lovers, Killer Be Killed, Dillinger Escape Plan) on backing vocals for a second album running. His Degradation Trip-era rhythm section Rob Trujillo (Metallica, Infectious Grooves) and Mike Bordin (Faith No More) are on board, as well as Gil Sharone (Team Sleep) and rock icon Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses) to help fill out drum and bass duties.

Lead single ‘Vilified’ hits hard with a doomy groove that is unmistakenly Cantrell. If this, along with the grim and gory tracklist, is any indication, then this album could be as good, if not darker than his previous release.
