Has Kerry King Confirmed Good Things Festival Inclusion?

New developments have arisen as we etch closer and closer to the first official Good Things Festival lineup announcement - while no dates have been set yet, fans are on the lookout for possible additions to the annual run which will tear up the East Coast from December 6-8.

On top of keeping track of bands playing shows in and outside of Australia during the festival run (see the full list of rule outs in our Rolling Coverage), we're also putting together clues of bands who could be free to make an appearance (or debut) down under at the heavy-meets-alternative event... and today we've come across a big potential inclusion.

Following the demise of Slayer, guitarist Kerry King formed his own "supergroup" featuring former bandmate Paul Bostaph on drums, Mark Osegueda (Death Angel) on vocals, Phil Demmel (ex-Machine Head/Vio-lence) on guitar, and Kyle Sanders (ex-Hellyeah) on bass.

The band launched into the music scene with their debut track 'Idle Hands' before releasing their debut album From Hell I Rise on May 17th and have since been tearing up music festival stages throughout the United States and Europe.

In a recent interview with the good folks at Metal Injection, Kerry talks about his plans for the rest of the year, which include shows in Mexico in November AND then he dropped a little spoiler for our neck of the woods, revealing:

"...in December we have a week and a half in Australia..."

Most bands spending time in Australia at that time of year will either be for Good Things Festival or thereabouts; but spending a week and a half could indicate not only could the band make their debut on a festival slot, but also potential debut sideshows.

To be honest, Kerry King's metal project wasn't on our radar for a festival like GTF (I did have them lined up in our Knotfest 2025 Rolling Coverage) but after this development, they're moving to the top of our prediction list.

What do you think? Keen to see Kerry and co. down under?

Stay tuned for more...
