After a record number of voting entries, United Kingdom’s URNE have won the Wall of Sound 2024 EuroSound Song Contest with their track ‘Becoming the Ocean’. The track comes from the band’s album A Feast on Sorrow which was released in August 2023. They finished narrowly ahead of Receiver from Cyprus and French nu-metalcore band Landmvrks. Receiver’s fans came thick and fast throughout the voting period, as the band promoted their involvement in the contest via their socials. Hopefully, second place is a great sign that we will hear more from them after their debut album Whispers of Lore was released in late 2023. They are joined in the top five by the heavily favoured Landmvrks’ track ‘Creature’ and Italian superstars Lacuna Coil’s ‘In the Mean Time’. Rising Swedish stars Immience landed in fifth place with ‘The Black’. Congratulations to URNE. It's no mean feat beating out some bigger names from more countries than we've ever had in the contest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsHmQwtziI4You can stream their album A Feast of Sorrow here. They have a European and UK tour coming up, which you can suss out on their website. Full voting results below. Thanks to all the fans who voted and the bands who created such killer tunes that we were delighted to share. Words by KJ Draven (Twitter X and Instagram)
