Daybreak Illuminate The Night With Latest Single 'Moon'

As Australia’s newest generation of heavy acts climb the ranks, undoubtedly achieving success across the country, Perth is hot on Melbourne’s tail for the title of Australia’s arts capital as they produce acts such as Make Them Suffer, Saviour, Pincer+, Darkmatter and more in quick succession. Amongst the names of Perth's heavy-hitting -core acts is none other than Daybreak, who have begun to make noise again in 2024 for the first time in three years in the lead up to their debut album The Sound, which will be hitting our ears on September 6th.

First came 'No One's Coming', and now the latest offering 'Moon' takes the group's sound in a melodic direction as they explore new textures with harmonic lulls and symphonics while also staying true to the heavy roots as seen on the 2017 debut release 'Death Dreams'. This healthy mix of dynamics showcases Daybreak's raw talents and proves their collective flair as musicians is truly special to observe.

“This song is a tribute to the unwavering support of a true friend in times of darkness. Penned during a period of personal struggle, the lyrics convey the pain, vulnerability, and ultimately, the redemption that comes from having someone to lean on. The song explores transformative impact of selfless love and the unshakeable bonds of friendship. Moon touches on the longing to reciprocate that kindness, to somehow repay the favour and be there for that friend in return.“

'Moon' is a more mature sound from the heavy act who are actively stepping towards the bigger things that they are destined for, which leaves all of us at Wall of Sound HQ anticipatingly waiting for September 6th to come so we can wrap our ears around the debut album, The Sound.
