Hot off the back of dropping their single 'WRAITH' last year and touring with post-hardcore icons Saosin (our Melb coverage here), Adelaide rockers Alt. have announced their forthcoming album ABEYANCE will be released on June 16th via the big dogs at Resist Records and Sharptone Records.
Turns out, in the recording process the band didn't know what direction they were going to take with their sophomore release, with vocalist Dan Richards revealing:
“The first two songs that we had for ABEYANCE were polar opposites from each other, they were WRAITH and BETTER OFF LEAVING, the former being pretty much the first proper track and the latter being the last song on the album. We started off trying to fill in the gaps between those at first, but a few songs after that we really found what we wanted the sound to be - and it all really started with A.D.D, that was the first song we wrote that we were like: ‘Yep, this is the sound of ABEYANCE!’”.
'A.D.D.' has all the makings of a fantastic sing-a-long inducing track which will no doubt be popular at the band's future shows. Complete with screams and fantastic cleans, what better way to get a look at the future of alt. than via this new offering.
It should also be mentioned that the band will make a very special appearance on the upcoming return of Wall of Sound TV - more info will be revealed in the coming weeks, but let's just say we're keen for what else they've got cooking... and so should you be!
