DEADSKIN - A HOME IN THE SUFFERING EP
We've been counting down the days until Brissie boys DEADSKIN gift their new EP A HOME IN THE SUFFERING unto us and that day has finally arrived. Sitting well on the heavier side of metalcore, the band have been teasing two songs in particular they couldn't wait for fans to hear... Now that 'IN DEATH' and 'NOT LIKE U' are released, do yourself a favour and start headbanging in anticipation!

st.sinner - IDENTITY CRISIS EP
Their new EP may be called Identity Crisis, but I guarantee st.sinner have strategically dropped such a vast array of different songs/genres in one release to diversify their sound and potentially reach a larger audience. When you've got collabs from Belle Haven and Heists alongside the quirky mental health jam track 'VILLAIN', you've got the makings of a killer debut release. Bravo st.sinner!

alt. - 'Conversations That Hurt'
The RADelaide lads return with their first taste of new music since dropping debut album ABEYANCE last year. 'Conversations That Hurt' finds the band honing in on their post-hardcore/emo influences as they belt out this breakup tune.
According to frontman Daniel Cullen-Richards:
"Conversations That Hurt is about the freshness of a breakup... It's hard to move on and all you can think about is wanting them back when you know it's not meant to be."

Outsider - 'The Absence You Became'
Commencing immediately with menacing screams and a fuggin' chucky riff/drum combo, chances are you'll be instantly hooked on Outsider's latest neckbreaker. It's got all your quality metalcore essentials: blastbeats, two-stepping sections and a filthy as fuck breakdown which will surely invoke some kind of invisible ninja fighting at their next live show.
The band shared with WoS:
'Absence' is lyrically written more open than previous songs, I’d done the direct/obvious thing more than enough and was quite vocal about it early on in the band's life, so I felt challenged to write something that was still personal to me while also allowing it to have a life of its own to each listener.

Heterochromia - 'Mirror Selfie'
The alt pop sensations from Sydney have been getting a little moodier with their latest singles including the infectious 'Villain' and now 'Mirror Selfie', which finds vocalist Bree Vane honing in on her rockstar chic as Joshua Gonzalez opens up that guitar behind her in a nod to Australia's radio rock queens of the 90s/00s such as Lash and Killing Heidi.
“We’re excited to explore our heavier influences and go back to our roots in punk/hardcore music, while still maintaining our pop sensibilities.”

WildAsh - 'LUMA'
Dear Australia - you might wanna keep your eyes on Brisbane because we're harbouring some of the next new acts getting about in the heavy/alt world and one band that keeps us on the edge of our toes is WildAsh. Following on from last single 'Crown', the four-piece have combined intricate progressive metal elements to 'Luma' which is by far their most superior release yet.
On the track, the group says:
"'LUMA' delves into themes of post-traumatic growth and healing, symbolized by the Latin word for 'Light,' signifying hope and resilience. Through its poignant lyrics and powerful music video, which portrays scenes of domestic violence and abuse, 'LUMA' sheds light on the journey from darkness to recovery. The song aims to inspire and empower listeners, reminding them that even in the toughest times, there is always a way forward."

RinRin - 'PRN'
After tearing up stages supporting Reliqa, Perth's RinRin have started turning heads on their own accord with their intricate guitar-driven, electronic rock/rap sound that's gonna have the next generation moshing harder than those who came before them. 'PRN' isn't just palatable for newbies to metal, but it's hella catchy and will have you nodding furiously with each and every spin.

RVN//NT - 'Destruction'
We last caught up with RVN//NT when we premiered their single 'Distain' and now the Brisbane metalcore kings return to rearrange faces on 'Destruction'. Once again combining prog metal/djent-infused guitars with crisp cleans and bellowing screams, it won't be long before the lads become household names in Australia's ever-growing metalcore scene.

Loose End - 'Bad Habits'
And last but certainly not least, it's time to cry because Melbourne pop punks Loose End have shared the bittersweet news that their latest release 'Bad Habits' will serve as a farewell for members Jackson, Mitch and Jack - who announced their departure from the quintet.
On the news, the band shares:
It comes with heavy heart to announce our dear friends and band members, Jackson, Mitch and Jack will be departing Loose End. They have given their hearts and souls to this band over the past seven years. Loose End is a band built on friendship and without them we wouldn’t be where we are today. ‘Bad Habits’ is a song about friendship and how it changes over the years. That is why it was the perfect send off.
With a sound akin to that of The Story So Far, Between You & Me and State Champs, it won't be long before your own whiney vocals take charge and you're belting this out with tears streaming from your face.
