Thousand Below Stir Up The Scene With New Single, ‘SHAKE’

With a new look laced in industrial aesthetics and a revitalized outward image, Thousand Below have returned with their latest offering, ‘SHAKE’. Throwing the band into new territory, the track is not merely a propulsion into a new year of music, but a new identity and era that is set to see them at their most fierce.

‘SHAKE’ begins with a fun and upbeat riff that shimmies alongside its energetic drum counterparts, creating an enticing beginning to the band’s first release of the year. Deberg’s alluring and hypnotic vocals seamlessly glide upon the already well-built foundations of the track, optimizing the dynamic layering of this song.

Thousand Below experiment within the track, reverting to simpler layering, then building the track back up with anticipation and vocal variation. In this same fashion, Deberg’s vocals reach new heights before plummeting back down between choruses. The verses are fluid and smooth, presenting a lovely contrast to the ruggedness and slightly more raw vocals within the chorus- offering a sneak peek of the performance that shines through toward the end of the song. Concluding with a delectable breakdown summoned by expressive and pleading wails, the track concludes with a bang.

‘SHAKE’ is a tasteful offering of Thousand Below’s revitalized sound and is an intriguing look at what is hopefully a jam-packed year for the Californian outfit. Groovy, expressive, and an all-around good time, there is so much to love about ‘SHAKE’.
