Isaac Holman and Laurie Vincent - Slaves (Audio Interview)

British punk rock has kind of died in the arse in the last two decades as the Brits search for their new Oasis or Blur and the UK punk scene faded away, however one band is making massive waves in that country, Europe and abroad in Kent duo, Slaves. The two-man wrecking machine made up of sole guitarist Laurie Vincent and a manic stand up drummer in Isaac Holman. Formed in 2012, the band last year released album number three, Acts of Fear and Love to rave reviews. They've graced the main stages of the big festivals in their own backyard as well as overseas and have just set foot in Australia for the first time as they prepare for their Download Festival appearances in Melbourne and Sydney. The band recently were support for The Prodigy in late 2018 and have just been announced as support for none other than Foo Fighters on their European leg later this year.

Wall of Sound caught up with the jet-lagged duo in Perth backstage before their show (our review here) whilst they were chomping down some local chinese food to talk all things Slaves, including a bit of history of the band for punters heading to Download as well as touching on the band's relationship and their sorrow for the passing of friend, Keith Flint of The Prodigy. We warn the guys about killer drop bears in Australia and dropped off a supply of Tim Tams for the guys to have their tea with later that evening. They are English after all.
