Swedish band Adept have torn 2016 a new one with the highly anticipated release of their brand new album Sleepless. The Scandinavians resorted to re-recording their fourth full-length album after having some record label issues. The band also had their Facebook page hacked and lost tens of thousands of 'likes' which, though may seem trivial, would have had a significant impact on their marketing and reach to fans. Luckily Napalm Records have come to the rescue with the new album.
Sleepless will most likely be the band's most successful album to date despite circumstantial issues that have emerged. The musical themes are incredibly powerful with vocalist Robert Ljung narrating with spoken word between and during tracks. There is strong emotional flavour to the metalcore jam that creates a n undescribable cathartic energy. Adept have already released two music videos for the new record, including stand-out track Dark Clouds as seen above, as well as the up-beat riff monster Carry The Weight below which integrates imagery of the album's cover art too:
In October 2013, Adept crushed their debut Australian tour in sweaty nightclubs and guitarist Gustav Lithammer can't wait to return to our shores. The Nordic musician alluded to some international tours that have been in the pipeline and are yet to be announced - hopefully an Australian gem is hiding in there.
