Many people think the life of a rock star is all about sex, drugs and rock & roll, but behind all the fun we see portrayed in the movies lies a hidden battle some musicians face where they’re fighting their own demons whilst standing on that stage in front of us all.

Craig Owens from Chiodos is a man who has been through so much over the past few years, not only was he kicked out of the band in 2009, but he’s had to keep his cool and overcome multiple rejections in the public eye at the same time as battling his own mental health issues including depression and addiction.

He never set out to share his problems with others but after revealing his own dark secrets through the music he created, he found himself connecting with his fans on a different level though the reliability of the stories behind his lyrics and the new Chiodos album "Devil" is pure indication of the struggles he has faced over the years.

Craig is a strong bloke that managed to keep it all together even though his personal and love life was falling apart around him. The price of fame has left him to face regretful decisions and experience failed relationships but one thing has stayed the same throughout his ordeals, his drive and ambition to become that successful musician he has moulded himself into today. And how he’s managed to do it with a smile on his face definitely deserves recognition.

Fans of his other side project D.R.U.G.S (Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows) who have been waiting to hear his side of the story behind the band’s unexpected break up mid-way through recording their second album will be pleased to know he addresses these questions and sheds some light on the future of the band.

Chiodos return to Australia in Jan/Feb 2015 and promise to bring one hell of a show back with them. If you haven’t grabbed a ticket yet, you’re already one step behind in life.

Until next time, rock the fuck out!
