Throughout the years Killswitch Engage have been a band, there have been quite a few memorable moments the guys have had, whether it be their Grammy Nomination for "End of Heartache" in 2005, the departure and return of front-man Jesse Leach and most recently guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz's blitzing of the Game Show The Price is Right on TV screens across America (more of that below); but at the end of the day the guys have remained humble in everything they do. However with their latest release Incarnate, it seemed as if the struggle for maintaining such a critically acclaimed act almost proved to be harder than the first few years they were together. Writing issues stalled the process of making the new album and according to Adam D it was easy to pinpoint who was to blame for that:
"All the problems we ran into are with Jesse and his ability to write the proper parts and get stuff that he was proud of and excited about. It sucks when you're on a big schedule and then the rug is pulled right from under your feet... Just blame Jesse, it's his fault"
But when you're the man responsible for producing your own band's new album, having had big success in previous years (especially with newer acts), you have to keep the ball rolling and make sure everyone is in good spirits which he didn't seem to have a problem with. Talking about previous work, a lot of hardcore fans would know Adam was the producing mind behind our very own Parkway Drive's first two studio albums Killing with a Smile and Horizons and we all know how those bangers turned out and are still widely appreciated and listen to, to this day. But how does a producer feel when he sees the band he somewhat helped launch into the heavy music scene (in a big way), eventually turn into the unstoppable force they are now, Adam explains:
"It's an honour to be apart of any band that turns into a big deal, especially like Parkway Drive, they're all like really nice dudes so seeing nice guys succeed is always something you have to be stoked on."
And does he claim responsibility for all the success they've had since then?
"No, it was mostly all them. It takes a band to make themselves noticed and big. They put in all the hard work, I just gave them a helping hand in the beginning stages!"
But success has always been part of Adam D's life and this was made evident last year when he somehow made his Game Show debut on Drew Carey's The Price is Right. Adam, who had been a fan of the show since he was a little kid, went along to the show taping with his girlfriend and a few mates, unbeknownst to him that he would absolutely clean up on the show scoring over $51,000 worth of prizes when his name was called out to "Come On Dowwnnnnn". But everyone knows there's always a catch to everything they do when winning prizes in the United States and it turns out he had to get rid of a few items afterwards to help with the debt he incurred:
"In the States when you win something like that, the government takes a lot in taxes on it so I ended up having to owe about 35-40% of all of those earnings. So I sold both vehicles to pay the taxes and cover everything else. Then I took that trip and spread the lawn equipment through my family and I still got that little camper, that thing's awesome. I'm an outdoor enthusiast so it's good stuff."

You can actually see the signs of the Killswitch Engage backup vocalist escaping during his hilariously dominating appearance and you can expect to see a whole lot more when the band rip Australia a new one in March next year. Check out out full interview with Adam D below, we even tested his knowledge again to see how he'd go with questions anyone in Australia would be able to answer... how'd he go (ummm not so well). Check it out then give him shit when Killswitch return in 2017.
