PENI PARKER Takes It To The Next Level In New Single ‘set my world alight (arise)’

Known for her bustling creativity in the form of worldbuilding and storylines, PENI PARKER has returned with a new offering, and her skills are as dazzling as ever. PARKER’s fierce dedication is unmatched, seeing single after single hit the mark with flying colours, with the latest, ‘set my world alight (arise)’ already soaring ahead in the Sydney artist's bustling discography.
PARKER found her inspiration from Solo Leveling; an anime that follows Sung Jin-Woo and his sudden shift from being a powerless and isolated weakling, to an unstoppable and unexpected force (and freak) of nature. These themes are reflected in the track both musically and lyrically. Through a heroic composition, ‘set my world alight’ mazes through moments of delicate and raw vocals, to layered and forceful guitars and drums. It represents these shifting moments that dictate a whole new world ahead! I have recently found myself caught up in Solo Levelling, and it’s safe to say that this anthem could perfectly slot itself into the anime, soundtracking the triumphant battles shown!
“This song is completely self-indulgent. I finished a few episodes of Solo Leveling and wanted to write a song about the main character's journey," PENI shares with WoS. "Sung Jin-Woo initially perceives himself as this powerless nobody but as you follow along that quickly changes. I guess I related to the themes around ‘leveling up,’ sometimes you have to lose a part of yourself, a necessary evil to endure adversities that life throws your way.”
As usual, PENI’s vocals are a soothing and intoxicating listen, reaching moments of great heights, and finding itself laced with conviction for the duration of the track. Her voice effortlessly molds to the story at hand, which is why the artist’s storytelling and character shifting have become such outstanding pillars of her identity.
