RedHook Dance with Lucas Woodland of Holding Absence on 'Dr. Frankenstein'

The genre-bending spectacle that is RedHook have been powering through the Aussie music scene for the better part of the past 7 years; and in that time they've taken on international audiences and festival slots, released their debut album Postcard From A Living Hell AND frontwoman Emmy Mack made a name for herself as the first-ever winner of the Australian Women In Music Awards 'Women in Heavy Music' category when it debuted in 2023.

Not bad for breaking the glass ceiling legends!

On top of their already released singles such as 'Tourist', 'Cannibal' feat. Lochie Keogh of Alpha Wolf, 'Scream 2' and 'Breaking Up With'; the Sydney four-piece have been hyping up their sophomore release, Mutation (out Nov 22) and once again hopped on the collab train, this time with Holding Absence's Lucas Woodland for new alt-pop/rock hit 'Dr. Frankenstein'.

Thematically about a tumultuous relationship, the track/video finds Emmy and co. playing games in an arcade - reflecting the pitfalls of falling in and out of love and the anxieties that come with the struggle. With lyrics like 'Broke my trust, did it over and over / Now I’m stuck with all this paranoia / Where do we go from this sickening horror show? / So am I Dr. Frankenstein? / Or was I the monster the whole time?' hammering home the message, it won't be long before you question whether it was YOU at fault for the relationship breakdown or the monster you created within yourself.

Another fine display of a band hellbent on having their music heard on a global scale, it won't be long before the world recognises the talent within RedHook and jumps on the bandwagon with the rest of us.
