Ocean Grove Soar To New Heights with ‘FLY AWAY’ & New Label Home
When it comes to undefined sound, backed up by integrity, confidence, and flair, no band comes to mind quicker than Ocean Grove. Hailing from the streets of Melbourne, the eclectic and electrifying outfit has seen a progression unbridled by genre, and a career unrestrained to only music. Dabbling in the niches of clothing, lifestyle, and community, the band’s Oddworld expression has become a global venture of connection and shared understanding. Now, embarking on some of the biggest steps of their career, Ocean Grove are asserting themselves in big ways, all starting with their new single, ‘FLY AWAY’.
‘FLY AWAY’ is a loud and proud celebration of the fusion of alt grit, blended with the recent resurgence of nu-metal within our scene (although, this is certainly something OG dabbled in first). The track begins with a technological utterance of the track's namesake, before spiraling into heavy layers of sound and feeling. The soundscape is sonically charged, with a mixture of technological influences and crisp instrumentals marrying to intrude your ears in the very best ways.
Much to the band’s signature style, the vocals fluctuate between grimy guttarals to hard rap-like verses that offer such a distinctive yet nostalgic feeling within the music. In them, self-assurance and loveable cockiness bleeds through the track and onto you. It creates a feeling that makes Ocean Grove songs so easy to love, and to listen to again and again.
Punchy and unyielding, ‘FLY AWAY’ presents Ocean Grove at their most ignited yet- a fitting start for a new era.
Alongside the new track, the band has shared some exciting news. Today marks the beginning of their journey with the iconic SharpTone Records - also home to label mates like Alpha Wolf, Make Them Suffer, and Polaris (who they happen to be touring with regionally, later this year)!

So too, the creative bunch has unveiled their very own label, aptly titled ODDWORLD Records, which is sure to see both OG and other bands flourish under the unique and eccentric values of the boys at hand.
