EVH has announced a brand-new signature guitar for Wolfgang Van Halen, the SA-126. This collaboration between Wolfgang and the EVH team has been the best of 3 years of development. Anyone who follows Wolfgang or his band Mammoth WVH has more than likely seen this guitar around, but it will now finally be available to the public and we can’t wait to get our hands on one. It's easy to see how much tender love and care has gone into the development of the SA-126 and the specs are absolutely wild:

  • Chambered mahogany body with a basswood centreblock
  • Bolt-on Mahogany neck with scarf joint, EVH® Modified “C” Neck Shape
  • 24.75” Scale length
  • Ebony, 12”-16” Compound Radius 22 Jumbo fret fingerboard
  • Wheel Truss Rod Adjustment at the Butt of the Neck
  • EVH® SA-126 Humbucking Pickups (Bridge and Neck)
  • SA-126 Hardshell case wrapped in Ivory vinyl with a blue crushed velvet interior

The brand new EVH® SA-126 bridge and neck pickups were created by Fender’s resident pickup designer TimShaw and the EVH® team. From the elegant sound of cascading-glassy cleans to a heavy bath of Overdrive, these pickups were designed to cover a lot of sonic terrain with ease.

One of the coolest aspects of the SA-126 range is that EVH is offering both solid finishes (Matte Army Drab & Stealth Black) as well as stunning quilt maple tops (Transparent Purple & Tobacco Sunburst). So, if you prefer a more solid paint that you can wear in or a picturesque, figured wood top, you’ll find exactly what you want. All models in the SA-126 range will be available in May. You best believe we’ll be getting one across our desk for a review, so stay tuned for more updates on that in the coming months. In the meantime, dive into this killer video of the man himself ripping some high octane riffs and talking about how the model came about.
