Gatecreeper Unleash Fresh Single and Invite You To Get 'Caught in the Treads'

With their Australian tour just over a month away, Arizona death metal hotshots Gatecreeper have unleashed their first taste of new music in over three years; the punishing, mid-paced stomper 'Caught in the Treads'.Summing up everything great about the band's multi-national death metal influence, the nasty guitar tone, tortured vocals, thick grooves, and beefy, yet raw production harken back to the genre's classic late 80s/early 90s period. It's not just a wall of death metal carnage, however, with enough melodic edge and dynamics to keep things both headbang-able and ear-grabbing from Gatecreeper.

Though there's been no further official details on a fresh LP, back in August last year the act shared a snap of themselves in the studio with producer Kurt Ballou declaring work on their third album complete. With their last full-length Deserted nearing half a decade in age, surely their new record is due out sometime this year via their label Nuclear Blast Records.Long been the extreme metal underground's most revered groups, Gatecreeper's killer single 'Caught in the Treads' is worth the long wait between drinks for fans, and hopefully a taste of more excellent things to come from the band in 2024.Words by Andrew Kapper@andrew_kapper
