It was a dark day when punk/rock hybrid Lunchtime called it a day earlier in the year… but from the shadows, a new dawn emerged with the announcement that the band would evolve and come back as a new entity named… Call The Mourning!
Made up of Constance Grafos on vocals/guitar, bassist Oscar Baillie (The Chimpeltons) and drummer Dominic Willimott (Frozen Eddie) – the trio have just dropped their debut single ‘Attention‘ and it’s well worth yours as the key sound continues from the previous act, but with a flavoursome edge that’s been missing. Slow-jam grungey riffs lead the charge for this raw, basement-sounding track, but the missing feature comes with added screams, made possible by close friend Brooke, vocalist of Brissie metal act Frozen Eddie.
With the group set to make their live stage debut at Wallapalooza this weekend, they’ll no doubt win over new fans as they continue their rise up the ranks of Queensland’s heavy/alternative music scene ladder with ambitions motivation and tenacity unlike any other.
