While She Sleeps Announce 6th Album and Drop Title Track ‘Self Hell’
Sheffield metalcore icons While She Sleeps have been busy. Not only are they setting off on a huge worldwide tour, but back in February they also announced that they were in the studio. The promise of new music on the horizon is a tease for all fans and we have been waiting on bated breath.
Yes, folks, the announcement of their sixth studio album is upon us. Self Hell is set to drop on March 15th via Spinefarm Records. It has not been too long between dances since 2021’s Sleeps Society, but we speak for everyone when we say there has never been too much new music from While She Sleeps.
On the new record, WSS guitarist Sean Long says:
“The name of the album is the foundation of how we view ourselves and the world. Everyone has a subjective experience like no other. Yet the constant that binds us IS the differences between us and the fact that we are all suffering in our own way. Don’t be too quick to judge and demonise, your time will come for redemption or damnification.”
Of course, March is a long time away but don’t worry, the time has come to catch a glimpse of the fruits of their labour with the release of the first single and title track available across streaming platforms right now.
In a musical collaboration of a spectrum of influences, the title track ‘Self Hell’ takes you on a journey lyrically and sonically. Huge riffs, a maelstrom of synth textures and of course, that signature dynamic between heavy-as-hell vocals and beats and clean, funky grooves.
Constantly innovating, it will be fascinating to see what the rest of the record has in store. While you are getting your While She Sleeps fix with the new single, Aussie fans can at least take comfort knowing that the band is heading down under in December as part of the Good Things Festival.
