Post-punks future evolutionaries L.S Dunes are back with more psycho-punk rock-jazz fusion and our brains are not ready for it. It’s not even been a year since their debut album Past Lives hit the shelves, and half a year later they were locked and loaded with an ice cream truck and single ‘Benadryl Subreddit' ready to be shot straight into your waffle cones.

Starting with a very MCR Danger Days style intro (lookin’ at you Frank Iero) and angsty lyrics filled with deception and consequence thanks to Saosin vocalist Anthony Green, the Coheed & Cambria-esque lead carries the song simultaneously with funk and punk beaming out of Travis Stever’s guitars.

I hope you’ve got your first aid kit because our favourite supergroup are about to open some ‘Old Wounds’. You begin your journey with melancholy picking contained by the transcendent flow of continued reverb, pushing the current softly along with Anthony Greene’s pearly gate opening voice.

An overflow of sadness and emotion pour out of the track but remanences of a safe, warm hug keep you going like it’s the last thing keeping you alive. A choir of layered vocals lift you up, and carry you into the atmosphere which fades away behind you as the song comes to an end. You wake up.

Two singles have now dropped alongside a documentary on YouTube following the creation of their latest masterpieces. What more could the mysterious L.S Dunes have on the way? Whatever it is, have your tin foil hats at the ready because things are only going to get wilder.

Spin the new single at midnight local time.
