Polaris Share 2nd Fatalism Single ‘NIGHTMARE’ And Personal Update

Polaris Nightmare Fatalism Album Ryan Siew

Our hearts continue to break for Polaris, as they continue on with their journey towards the release of new album Fatalism, following the tragic sudden passing of guitarist Ryan Siew in June. The band have shared they plan to honour the legacy of Ryan’s work by continuing on with the album’s release on September 1st and the following Australian and international tour commitments post-release.

They don’t have to, but we commend the boys for pulling strength and pushing through given the tragic circumstances. Ryan Siew Forever.

Today the band are back in the spotlight for the first time with new track ‘NIGHTMARE‘ commencing with a Dan Furnari drum-fill, before Rick Schnieder joins in with some tasty riffs and licks. Following the melodic chorus, fronted by Jamie Hails, the boys come together to create a new metalcore jam that’s certainly going to get us all moshing harder than ever before when they whip this bad boy out on their future tour. The haunting part hits so much harder as Ryan’s guitar solo section (post-breakdown) makes us truly realise the impeccable talent he had, which will live forever with this final collection of completed tracks on Fatalism.

As the boys shared with us at Good Things Festival last year – “it’s a Polaris record” and so far we’ve heard this in both ‘Inhumane‘ and ‘NIGHTMARE‘ – leaving us wondering, what else they’ve got to showcase on this upcoming record.

Accompanying the new track is a new video, which was part of three the boys shot earlier in the year, all of which will feature Ryan. The band shared the thought process behind releasing the footage, where they worked alongside Ryan’s family to keep his legacy alive, sharing:

“We created this video with our friend Ben Wrigley, AKA Third Eye Visuals, who found some amazing locations and imagery to help us convey the track when paired with his brilliant editing skills. This was the second of three music videos we filmed with Ryan earlier this year. It has been a challenging and very emotional task to complete these videos in light of what has happened, but after careful discussion with his family we collectively felt that we wanted to share with the world the final things that Ryan created with us. We will proudly cherish the memories of him contained in this footage, and hope you will too.”

Stop what you’re doing, give the song and video a watch and lose yourself once again in the tumultuous world of Polaris.
