Trophy Eyes
Metro Theatre, Sydney NSW
July 1, 2023
Supports: Eliza & The Delusionals

Following the release of their superb 4th album Suicide and Sunshine, the iconic Trophy Eyes wrapped up their Australian stage domination with a final show in Sydney, resulting in a slew of bodies being thrown about the pit as the awesome foursome hit the stage.

Eliza & The Delusionals kicked off proceedings with their elegant performance as the crowd piled into the Metro Theatre, with familiar face Scott Eckel (MAKEOUT) on drums for the group. Having spotted the band a few times on stage now, they're destined for bigger things and we cannot wait to see what they do next.

Following a minor issue with security not doing their job and catching crowd surfers (resulting in the show momentarily stopping), Trophy Eyes tore through an emotionally driven setlist consisting of new tunes from their latest release, plus dating back to fan fav release Chemical Miracle. Frontman John Floreani owned the stage as he poured his heart out through his singing with the rest of the band keeping up with his fast-paced stage presence.

Standout tracks for me were 'Heaven Sent', 'Life In Slow Motion' and 'Daydreamer' which had EVERYONE belting out the words together. The crowd surfers continued their reign throughout and to be honest, it was a fitting send off for their new release which many at WoS HQ are calling Album of the Year material (so far).
