American metalcore Texas in July have been inactive for nearly a decade and have come out of the woodwork to finally release new music. The Pennsylvanian band released their fourth record Bloodwork in 2014, featuring lead-single 'Broken Soul'. The group include Chris Davis, widely known in The Ghost Inside, as well as J.T. Cavey of ERRA.
After taking a decent time away from the scene, at least within the domain of Texas in July, the five-piece are back in a big way with some modern metalcore. Their return single is called 'False Divinity'. The song is powerful and packed with nostalgia. With a nod to their peers in August Burns Red, Texas In July boast a high energy metalcore track with tough vocals and deliver a delicious breakdown to cement their recurrence.
On the new song, Cavey says:
“We all have so many good memories from our time as an active band; it was a real treat to rediscover our love for our style of music. The song came together as a nice extension to what we wrote on our last full-length album, Bloodwork. "False Divinity" features what we feel are all the best things that make Texas In July a band, alongside a darker tone lyrically of what we have been witnessing in the world as of late.”
