At the start of the year, Escape The Fate returned with brand new single ‘H8 MY SELF‘, which was arguably some of their best work in years. However, the track came with some backlash after they were accused of plagarising artist Cameron Gray‘s artwork of Dead Letter Circus‘ 2010 single ‘Cage‘, but since updated the artwork - sheesh.
Alas, we move on. Escape The Fate are heating up in 2023 and with a series of lineup changes and more new music. A second song has now surfaced called 'Low' and it's continuing on with the same momentum from the preceding single. This is some of the best stuff from the band in years and we love to see it.
'Low' sees vocalist Craig Mabbitt delve into some over-mixed cleans before rapidly slipping into a raspy verse with the rest of the band picking up the ante instrumentally. The 2023 era Escape The Fate is seeing the band find a really useful happy medium for fans old and new - just wait for Mabbitt's uncleans and you'll raise a pleasantly curious eyebrow.
Have you got tickets to Escape The Fate‘s upcoming The Dead Masquerade Aussie tour in April? They'll be performing 2010 record Escape The Fate in full, but we're hoping they might sneak in ‘H8 MY SELF‘, and 'Low'. You can catch D.R.U.G.S. (who just announced a Melbourne headline show) and The Beautiful Monument on tour with the band. Get tickets here.
