Ufffffffffffffffffffff!
When we told you about Sydney-based metalcore outfit Harroway last year, we told you to keep your eyes on them because they're going to blow up this year, and today, the band are proving why our claims are always solid, with the release of new song 'Parasite'.
Commencing with harrowing (pun intended) synth before exploding with frontman Matt Banks' crunching vocals, we're straight into a menacing breakdown that'll have you turning all night long. The drums are tight-knit (with plenty of blast beats) and the overall sound has me thinking of Thy Art Is Murder meets In Hearts Wake in terms of delivery. There are plenty of machine gun-esque riffs and the chorus erupts to a clean vs. scream session that's just, so goooooood.
On the new song, Banks explains:
"Parasite reflects the violent internal chaos and self hate that comes from living with BPD and how it infects the people around you, even though you feel like you are protecting them by doing your best to keep it hidden."
The song comes from the band's upcoming EP I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore set for release on April 28th. Knowing what we already know about the band through our 2022 coverage, you might wanna jump on the bandwagon stat!
This song was an instant add to our Aussie Heavyweights & Hitmakers playlist on Spotify - go follow it and stay up to date with the latest Australian acts well worth your time.
