Heterochromia & David De La Hoz – ‘A Kicking Q&A’ Interview

Last week we premiered ‘Kicking‘, the new single for Sydney-based alt-pop act Heterochromia which also featured Belle Haven frontman David De La Hoz. For the ill-informed, the song is a hard-hitting look at the lives of two friends who were ready to throw it all away, until they started fighting for each other.

The story was inspired by the real-life friendship of frontwoman Bree Vane and De La Hoz, who have both openly shared their mental health struggles through their music, and their intentions were to share their story in the hope others would hear it and find refuge and understanding through their struggles.

We asked Bree and David to sit down together for a quick Q&A to give us all insights into the track, including the story behind the title (which they hope others will adopt in their own lives), David dabbling in pop music, and the mindblowing revelation when they realised their friendship/relationship was similar to that of Hawkeye and Black Widow in Avengers: Endgame.

Give the interview a watch below and don’t forget to reach out when you need help.
