Sam Carter – Architects ‘No Pressure Ahead of Australian Tour’

Australia was lucky enough to get both the final show on the HOLY HELL Tour and the follow-up one-off explosive UNIFY Gathering 2020 performance. These ended up being the last two shows seen from Architects for two years. Since then, the world fell apart, got (sort-of) put back together again, and the band have released two albums! ARIA number one record, For Those That Wish To Exist and the latest absolutely cracking record, the classic symptoms of a broken spirit.

Finally, next week, we see the return of Architects to our shores for the first time in over three years. Whilst it hasn’t been that long since Wall Of Sound caught up with frontman Sam Carter, we were lucky enough to chat again. However, this time focussing on the upcoming tour with Counterparts (USA) & Thornhill, beginning next week.

Sam Carter has been very close to the tippy top of my interview bucket list for quite some time. Our Editor, Browny, entrusted me with the honour of chatting with him this time. Sam & I discuss the band’s love of Australia, how far back they will or will not go with songs on the setlist, what we can expect from the shows in terms of production & most importantly: how many songs they will play (it’s a lot).

“Now – we’re we are at, we’re so focused on like making everything sound as good as it can be, and being the best musicians we can – it goes off. On the last tour, we’d never played anything off of the newer record live. We’re warmed up now, we will be able to put on a proper show for you.”

We are catching the band at the perfect time. This chat will leave you feeling as pumped up as I am. This tour is not one to be missed.
